My philosophy

My name is Elisa Balbi. I am a psychologist and psychotherapist specializing in Brief Strategic Psychotherapy.

For over twenty years, I have been supporting people going through difficult times—whether minor daily setbacks or profound struggles—helping them find their way again with practical tools and a clear goal: to feel better as quickly as possible.

Working with suffering requires precision, but also the ability to listen.
My approach combines the rigor of clinical research with the ability to tailor each intervention to the person in front of me. Because no two problems are alike, and no two solutions should be either.

Brief Strategic Psychotherapy does not merely alleviate symptoms: it identifies the mechanism that perpetuates the problem and, step by step, builds the most effective path to overcoming it. Rather than spending years rehashing the past, we work in the present, using precise tools tailored to you.

Change isn’t some distant goal: it’s a concrete, measurable process that begins right from the very first session.
Every session has a purpose, and every piece of guidance has a rationale. And at the end of the journey, what you take with you isn’t just the resolution of the problem, but a new ability to face life’s challenges with resources that will remain yours forever.

Publications and Presentations

For me, writing is a natural extension of my clinical work.
Every book, every chapter, every public talk stems from the same question that guides every session: what really works, and why.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of exploring that question through publications, international conferences, and public lectures, contributing to the development of a model that continues to evolve.
